If you need a good app to warm up your tapping finger, Speed Bag is the app for you. This game/trainer helps you get more consistant with your taps. Training to take on your buddy at Tap Tap Revenge? You better spend some time on the Speed Bag! It’s also a good trainer for your mind as you get more consistant with the sound each punch would make if you were punching a speed bag in real life. The timing is spot on.
Adapster is the first adaptive test preparation software available for a mobile device. Students can create unlimited reviews from over one thousand questions that fall into four main areas and thirty-three subtopics. These custom reviews provide mixed question sets that closely mimic actual SAT math questions, offering both multiple choice and “grid-in” answer input. Unlike traditional review books or other test prep applications, Adapster automatically keeps a detailed record of student input and generates a personalized set of lessons and test-taking strategies. Why study what you already know when you can focus on the things you do not?

For those of you familiar with ‘Naturally Speaking’ for the PC and ‘Mac Dictate’ for OS X, Nuance Communications has released its version of their popular speech recognition software for the iPhone. I’ve used this app for 3 days now (Note: it’s currently free to download at the App store for a limited time) and I must say that it’s even easier to use than the PC or the Mac version. You do not have to go through the tedious process of reading paragraphs of words to ‘educating’ the software to recognize your speech and voice pattern. All you have to do is either speak close to your iPhone or through your iPhone headset and the app will pretty much type out what you have said. It’s amazingly accurate. Words that the app missed out can be replaced either by retyping it from the keyboard or by tapping the word from a list of suggested word selections.
